F Project exhibition 2022, Chapel Hill School of Art, Cork.

f.Project originally came together in 2017 - first at Crawford College of Art & Design and later at Cork Film Centre. Drawn together over a shared enthusiasm for analogue photography, our diverse art practices include other modes of expression and presentation such as performance, projection and video, as well as film photography.

f.Project members are: Éanna Heavey, Chris Hurley, Dori O’Connell, Sophia Santabarbara, Artem Trofimenko, Evgeniya Martirosyan, Brianna Ní Leannacháin and myself.

In early 2022, we were invited to engage with the historic buildings at Chapel Hill School of Art in Macroom, Co. Cork. An exhibition of our work followed in July 2022.

My engagement with the building led me to create a series of photographs of foil impressions which came from features in and around the premises: old Bakelite light switches, mantelpiece decorations, the toes of a statue in the grounds. I also photographed some of my ‘interventions’ in the space, for example shining lights between floors and walls which are partially renovated. Also included in the show was a large image made without using a camera, Touch II (pictured below).
