This work is an investigation into the complicated story of a collection of 200-year-old plaster casts known in Cork as the Canova Casts.

Presented here are pieces made in response to artist Séan Hanrahan’s practice and to our conversations over several weeks. Taking visual cues from from Séan’s own plans for Elsewhere, this work is part of a continuing exploration of the creative potential of alternative photographic processes.
Orla O’Byrne recently graduated from The Crawford College of Art and Design with a first class honours. She is currently working towards two exhibitions coming up in early 2020: one in The Lavit Gallery and one in the James Barry Exhibition Centre. She lives and works in Cork City.
